WHY YARN DYEING?
I dye yarn because I believe in the soothing/healing power of crafting, and using hand dyed yarn in my projects adds an extra layer of beauty and accomplishment. Knowing that I am using someone's creativity, time, skills, and love in my knitting makes my crafting time even more special. I want to do that for you. My yarn is dyed with you in mind. You are special, and you deserve yarn that is created with love and hope. My goal is to have a short turnaround time for shipping. I want to get yarn into your hands as quickly as possible so you can create those yarn-y memories.

WHY IS YOUR COMPANY CALLED GREENSTONE YARN?
Greenstone is the state gem of Michigan. The official name for it is chlorastrolite; it is a mineral found in the Upper Peninsula (UP) of the state. My husband and I were married in the UP, and it holds a special place in my heart.

WHY SHOULD I BUY YARN FROM YOU?
Great question! There are so many amazing indie yarn dyers out there. I believe we all have something different to offer - a vibe, an aesthetic, a personality. One company's yarn may speak to your soul, and another's may make you run away screaming. I do not claim to be better than all the wonderful indie yarn dyers out there. The crafting/dyeing community is amazing, and we can all coexist peacefully. I do promise that I create my yarn from a place of authenticity. I want to make yarn that makes you happy, relaxed, soothed, restored. I aim to have most of my yarn in stock, or if not, I will be able to ship it out within a few days time. I know how important my knitting time is, and I want you to be able to enjoy every bit of it with yarn you purchase from me.

I love naps, chocolate, and Depeche Mode. Oh, and knitting . . .
My favorite color is pink (and yes, I can love pink and Depeche Mode at the same time!).
I have 3 brothers, 2 sisters, 13 nieces and nephews, and 2 Maine Coon cats.
I am married to an amazing man, and even better, I'm married to my friend. He is the best cat dad ever, is extremely handy, makes me laugh, can break into houses (only when needed of course, and surprisingly, this skill has come into play more than one might think), knows a little (or a lot) about everything, and makes me feel loved. I'm very lucky.
I cannot possibly choose a favorite book, but A Man Called Ove by Fredrik Backman and Persuasion by Jane Austen come to mind.
I used to be a gymnast, dancer, and diver. I tend to kill plants for reasons unknown. I love animals. We used to have a pet rabbit named Bugs (get it - Bugs Bunny?) and gerbils.
I value diversity, equality, and inclusion. ALL are welcome here. I value each and every one of you!
