FREQUENTLY ASKED
QUESTIONS
-
Where do you source your yarn? Our fibers are primarily sourced through small and large farms alike in Argentina and Uruguay. Each and every base is assured to be muesling-free.
-
How should I care for my yarn? Most, if not all, of our bases are superwash merino; however, we still recommend that you hand soak your knits in lukewarm water with a wool wash of your choosing and lay flat to block/dry on a clean towel or mats. If you would like to use your washing machine though, we recommend washing your piece alone on the gentlest cycle and always laying flat to dry. This simply prevents any amount of shrinkage that may come with using natural fibers like merino wool. While we thoroughly rinse our yarns before their final bath in wool wash, there is always a slight chance that there will be a small amount of bleeding in your first few washes. This is why it is important to wash separately from your other garments, just in case.

What bases do you normally stock? Please see the Base Information tab on our homepage.

Will you be raising prices due to the tariffs? Not if I can help it!!! At Greenstone Yarn, I’m committed to offering high-quality, hand-dyed yarn at fair and thoughtful prices. With recent global shifts—such as proposed tariffs and rising supply costs—there may be some impact on the cost of materials. Yarn is a luxury, and I never take your investment in it lightly. While I’m still assessing how these changes might affect pricing, I want you to know that any adjustments will be made with care, transparency, and a deep respect for you—my amazing customers. Rest assured, I will not raise prices unless it's ABSOLUTELY necessary, and we are not there yet. Thank you for supporting handmade, small-batch yarn. Your support means the world, and it helps keep this creative dream alive.

When will my package arrive? We use USPS to ship all of our packages. If your yarn is in stock, it will ship in 4 to 7 business days. Once it leaves our studio, it's in the hands of USPS. We are not liable for lost or missing packages. You will receive an email when the package is shipped, which will contain tracking information. While we will always do our best to answer questions about your packages, USPS will be able to help you locate it in the event that a package has been lost.
